Lightning!

I just took this shot about 1/2 an hour ago... Major storm heading through right now. Tornadoes on the ground south and east of us right now!

New trip to Red Oak II

The wife and I spent a few hours last weekend together taking pictures and enjoying the beautiful day. I recently got the upgrade to Sagelight and I had to upload a few good ones. Enjoy...

The original is an HDR created by my new Pentax K-5 on the low setting I think. I still prefer making HDR photos the manual way if I want to be more creative. The HDR setting helped, then I used the new Lightblender in Sagelight along with some dodge and burn.Without using the HDR setting there is no way to have been able to have the sun in this shot and the houses being better exposed.

New Photos soon!

Its been some time since I have added any new photos to this blog. There are many reasons as to why that is but the biggest reason is NOT that I haven't been taking photos. I have, just not as many as I used to. Two days after my last post which was all the way back in July of last year, 2010, I got remarried. Since that time I now have a larger family and also began going back to school for a degree in Photo Journalism. So, to say the least, I have been a tad busy. I am gathering new photos from the past year to submit for all to see who are interested and follow this blog.(Which I don't think is too many)

I also recently purchased a major upgrade in photo equipment. I still have the Pentax K10d that up until now have been where most of my photos have come from. I have yet to have the chance to get out and use my new Pentax K5(2) which is now the top of the line camera that Pentax produces and a few camera upgrades since the K10d. I hope the new camera will give me a greater ability to capture the sights of the four-state area like never before. We shall see right? I'm also hoping to find some new places to shoot as well as using new techniques on some of the old ones I've shot many times in the past. Always learning, and trying to improve.

Stay tuned...
